When the boys were small it was so easy to get them to eat fruit and vegetables. I could also hide them and they didn’t even know they were eating them. Enter the teenage years and getting them to eat a piece or fruit has started to get harder.
They have been eating their vegetables but even that had started to become a struggle. I have read so much lately about juice diets that I thought it might be a way of getting my two teenage boys to consume more fruit and vegetables and get all the healthy nutrients they need for their growing body and mind. I am a firm believer in consuming fruit and vegetables to stave off a cold so coming in to autumn I really wanted to give this a go.
The blender arrived last Saturday and I am amazed at two things. Firstly, this is so powerful, quick and easy to use and to make me a happy mummy, my two lovely teenage boys have been drinking fruit smoothies and eating more vegetables in the form of soups.
This week alone they have had a smoothie of bananas, oranges, raspberries and blackberries; beetroot, carrot and ginger soup as well as leek and potato soup. All whizzed up in this fantastic Vonshef Blender.
I can’t recommend this blender enough. I was absolutely amazed at the powerful 1200W motor which made light work of whatever fruit and vegetables we threw at it. The large 1 litre cup also meant we didn’t have to blend our ingredients in batches, this was enough for all four of us. Best of all, this wonderful device has helped me to ensure that my two teenage boys are getting enough vitamins and minerals.
I’d love to hear how you get your teenagers to eat fruit and vegetables. Have you thought of using a blender?
