HOW TO ADD SOME VINTAGE SPARKLE TO YOUR FALL OUTFIT

It is well and truly autumn.  There is certainly a nip in the air.  So as the weather has started to bit I have dusted the cobwebs off the storage drawers and taken out my autumn and winter jumpers.  I also want to make sure I can switch things up and make them feel a little more special during these cold months.

Are you like me?  I tend to get bored of the same old jumpers and cardigans but I never seem to tire of sparkly jewellery!

Here are some of my favourite pieces of vintage jewellery to tempt you.  They will certainly add some vintage glamour to your autumn outfits.

Vintage Dolphin Pin / Brooch

I absolutely adore this vintage pin.  It is French and from the 1960s period, gold in colour and with crystal stones to make any autumn jumper sparkle!

FAVOURITE VINTAGE JEWELERY PIECES TO MAKE A STATEMENT THIS FALL

This post is also called “little treasures I find to sell on Etsy but find it difficult to part with”.  Autumn (or fall for those further afield) is well and truly underway here in Northern Ireland.  This is a time when I start switching the fairy lights on.  It is also time to light candles.   I wanted to share with you my favourite pieces of jewellery.  While it’s the time to wrap up warm, we can often put the jewellery pieces to one side and stick to scarves.  You don’t have to though.  I hope the following pieces inspire you as much as they have done me.

This is a one of a kind vintage repurposed necklace. It is made from a selection of 1970s leaf brooches and another 1970s flower brooch secured on a cooper colour chain. You will most certainly turn heads with this necklace. I have called it The Fall as my tribute to the season.

A stunningly beautiful vintage brooch / vintage pin from the 1950s. It is gold tone with green coloured crystals. A beautiful large flower design.

Period is 1950s and this is a stunning long vintage multi coloured autumn bead necklace. The beads are just lovely and in oh so many colours to match your outfit!

A stunningly beautiful vintage brooch from the 1950s. It is silver in tone and has citrine coloured crystals. It is shaped with little hearts around the brooch, such lovely filigree work.

Wow a stunning necklace from the 1950s. It is autumn brown in colour with three strands, you can see from the photo the lovely detail of each bead.

What are your favourite go to items of jewellery for fall / autumn?  I’d love to hear.

My Favourite Vintage Jewellery to add some Sparkle to Autumn

While it may not officially be autumn, there is certainly a nip in the air.  So when the weather starts to bite I start contemplating taking the jumpers out of storage but I also think of how I can switch things up a bit so go and check out my jewellery, well the jewellery that I have decided to keep for myself.

Are you like me?  I tend to get bored of the same old jumpers and cardigans but I never seem to tire of sparkly jewellery!

Here are some of my favourite pieces of vintage jewellery to tempt you.  They will certainly add some vintage glamour to your autumn outfits.

Vintage necklace

This is a stunning one of a kind necklace is made from a vintage 1950s brooch. Re-purposing vintage brooches is just one way of reusing brooches if you don’t normally wear them.

vintage 1950s necklace

I just adore sparkle.  Period is 1950s and this is a stunning crystal style necklace with mother of pearl. Who wouldn’t love to wear this?  Sparkle, sparkle and more sparkle!

Vintage necklace

Wow, wow and wow again!  Another sparkly number only in gold colour.   I absolutely adore this one and found it very hard to put it up for sale after re-purposing vintage beads to add a bit more colour to the necklace.

Sometimes less is more.  From the 1950s this is a stunning mirrored bead necklace. It is absolutely lovely on.  How amazing does this look?  I constantly admire this piece so maybe it will make its way in to my collection instead of my Etsy shop!

I hope you have enjoyed looking at my favourite pieces of vintage jewellery.  These vintage pieces will certainly complete any outfit and let’s face it a girl can never have too much jewellery.

How I Repurpose a Vintage Brooch in to One of A Kind (OOAK) Vintage Bead Necklace

In my Five Ways to Wear a Vintage Brooch post, I talked about making the vintage brooch in to a necklace, well this is just one of my many creations.  To purchase this you are purchasing a stunning one of a kind handmade re-purposed vintage 1950’s brooch and 1960’s bead necklace. It is such a great look for summer. The necklace is 16 inches with the brooch being 1 inch.

So why buy vintage?
For me vintage means quality, it means it was made with care and attention that mass produced cannot match.

For me it means history. Whatever the item it has been pre loved, it has been pre cherished. It is a key to the past with every item having it’s own history and every vintage item particularly the older pieces have a beautiful romanticism about them, quite often we won’t know the history of each item, but it is easy to be swept away to past times .

For me it means individualism. Most items are one offs or limited finds. There are so many different styles and beautiful flourishes to vintage items that our modern mass produced items just cannot come close.
