It is coming up to a year since I started blogging so I have decided to dedicate this post to the three most important lessons for me this year…
Nothing is set in stone
Before starting to blog I read a lot of “how to” blog posts. From this I concluded that sometimes I can know and read far too much! One of the first lessons that comes to mind is being flexible. I started my blog off with all good intentions but I now understand that life gets in the way and while I would love to write 5 new blog posts per week, it’s not realistic for me. My current schedule is realistic for me and I’m very happy with it. Although if there are times I don’t stick to it I’m not too hard on myself.
Continue to be inspired
I still find time to read other blogs. I find them truly inspirational. When I think I’m getting too hung up on my own schedule, I take time to relax and read other blogs. There are some days when I’m a little fed up with my blog, taking the time to read other’s posts is a fantastic way to feel inspired again.
Be open to learn something new
I am a 40+ blogger. To be honest, I had thought I was too old to start this blogging malarkey! Not so. I love learning new things and blogging has taught me so much. I am fascinated with bloggers, I’m interested in what they are up to, what they are creating, what they are sharing. I also love bloggers who share their top tips on various topic. I always learn from them and appreciate the time they have taken to share with me. You too can learn something new by continuing to read other blogs and you can also teach others.
What have you learnt from blogging? I’d love to hear from you.
