This blog series is me wanting to stand up and celebrate the strength and resilience of wonderful women. Female bloggers who, in my eyes, are quite frankly unstoppable. I wanted to celebrate these women and share with you their blogs in the hope that they inspire you too.
This blog post is about Francesa who blogs at From Pennies to Pounds. Francesca blogs about her journey of paying off debt, shares her hints and tips on saving money and making money too. Her work to help others on the same journey is empowering and something I think is truly inspirational. It’s an incredible thing to share such a personal journey as well as trying to help others achieve financial freedom too. Francesca’s determination to help others is something that also adds to why I wanted to include her in my blog series which promotes wonderful female bloggers.
Don’t just take my word for it though, find out below a little more about Francesca and connect with her too via the links.
What makes you smile?
Playing hockey. I don’t take much time for myself, so when I play hockey I really treasure it. It’s the only time when I switch off from everything else and feel truly myself. I play with a lovely group of girls and we are pretty good too! I love improving and playing well.
My daughter of course makes me smile everyday too, she is so funny and kind as well. I adore her.
I love spending time with friends and family; I’m lucky that even the people I work with I get on with really well, so time at work is spent laughing all day.
Food…I love food. Basically, quite a lot of things make me smile! I am a very emotional person so I am easy to make happy.
If you could trade lives with one person for an entire day who would it be and why?
Probably my daughter. She’s 6 years old and I think at that age you don’t really appreciate how easy you have it! I would love for someone to cook my meals for me, play all day with my friends and find the smallest thing the funniest thing ever!
I have very fond memories of being a child, but I would rather be her than me as a child as she is much more confident than I was at her age.
What accomplishments are you most proud of?
Ooo that’s a hard one! I’m most proud of my daughter – I made the most perfect human being. I try really hard to act around her how I would like her to act, which is nice to see works. I’m also proud of all of the sporting awards that I’ve ever won, such as in athletics and hockey, as I love team sports (and individual races too) and the sense of achievement that comes from sporting prowess is second to none.
I’m also proud of how well the blog is doing! I feel like I haven’t been doing it that long, and whilst I may not be making thousands of pounds per day, I get the most amazing messages from people saying that I have helped them so much, and that means the world to me.
If you could give your 16 year old self advice, knowing what you know now, what would it be?
DO NOT DATE HIM. Hahaha!
Seriously though, it would be to just take life as it comes, but to save as much money as possible, as I would need it for the future. I’d also maybe encourage myself to go travelling. I would probably tell myself not to date anyone until I was 30! (I’m not 30 yet currently!).
What drives you to do what you do? What motivates you?
Everything that I do comes from wanting to spread a little bit of kindness and positivity on the world. I feel like the world needs it right now! I work hard on my blog because I genuinely want to help as many people as I can, but I also want my own business where I play by my own rules and don’t have to answer to anyone else.
I get a lot of inspiration from hugely successful bloggers, and that motivates me to achieve a similar level of success. I am also a huge fan of goal setting, and for a lot (ok, all) of my goals I need money to do so, so working hard to earn that money inches me one step closer to my goals every time.
