If you are setting up a new office, two critical elements include the offices themselves and the security available. Read on to discover more.

Choosing an office space

Choosing an office space is an important decision for any startup business. There is a lot that needs to be considered. Click here for more information on virtual offices if it makes more sense for you to work from home. If not, you will need to ensure that the office space you choose fits in with your budget. However, you also need to make sure you establish yourself in an area that is going to give your business the best chance of success. And, if that wasn’t enough, start-ups always aim to grow and progress, so you either need a flexible contract or you need an office space that gives you the platform to scale your company.

Office spaces don’t need to be boring and bland. In fact, the offices you house your business in play a pivotal role in terms of productivity and innovation. You need an office space that inspires and uplifts, giving your employees the opportunity to be the best they can be and take your company to the next level. No matter what type of business you run, whether you have an art dealership or you run a web design company, the offices you choose must make sure that you have the creative space your business needs to thrive. Not only are the offices themselves creative and inspiring, but so are their surroundings.

Office security

A keypad access control system is one that has numeric keys, similar to a telephone. In order for a person to gain access to your commercial property, they will need to enter the right numeric code. These systems can be used alongside card readers to provide two layers of security. Of course, they can also be used on their own.  These are extremely useful for those who need to access your building such as Green Facilities for cleaning and maintaining your office space.

What are the benefits of installing an access control keypad?

• Improve the security of your business – Your code keypad for access control can be installed on any door – not just the main entrance. This gives you the ability to secure any vulnerable on-site locations, as well as sensitive stock and information. You can have full control over who has access to certain areas of your business.

• More reliable – Keypads are a lot more reliable than traditional lock and key. There is no need to fret about the breaking of the lock or your keys getting lost or being stolen. This can save you a lot of money and a lot of hassle too.

• Deter crime – Workplace keypads are also effective at deterring crime. If a criminal notices an access keypad, he or she is going to be much less likely to target your business.

It is important to determine who is going to have access to certain areas of your business premises. You may, for example, grant everyone access to the staff room. However, only a handful of people may be allowed access to the admin office where sensitive documents are kept. Once you have done this, you’ll need to choose codes that are relatively easy to remember, but aren’t easy to guess. For sensitive workplace areas, selecting codes carefully is crucial. Don’t opt for the likes of ‘1234’ or ‘9999’. You can also change codes every so often to maintain high levels of security.
