Start with the larger items you want to decorate such as the windows, stairway and finally the tree. Use plenty of lights, in fact the more the merrier! Also consider your colour scheme and try to mix and match to ensure the best sparkly effect during these dark evenings.
I know time is of the essence when it comes to this time of year but try your best to fit in making some Christmas items, especially with your children and grandchildren. These are items that you will cherish year after year. Not to mention they are super easy and budget friendly too!
There are so many new Christmas decorations out there now. Why not mix and match old with new? For example just look at the LED Light Up Letters above or opt for something ultra modern like pom poms for your tree. Whatever you choose you can never have too many decorations!
If you are making some decorations, spray paint is your friend. You can change the colour year after year with a little bit of spray! It’s a fun thing to do with children too!
Christmas needs a Christmas wreath. Of course there are so many to choose from but you don’t have to stick to just one. Why not opt for a traditional one on your front door and a willow one for the inside? I just love a wreath at Christmas. You are only limited by your imagination.
Get the whole family involved in the decorating. Give them their own little tree to decorate for their bedroom. Let them choose the decorations. Remember it’s all about allowing their imagination run wild so don’t get too hung up on it not being symmetrical!
There are other more complex crafts out there that you can make or indeed purchase. All that is stopping you is having enough room to put them all up!
