Telltale Signs You’re In Desperate Need Of A Holiday

We all need a holiday from time to time, and for many, that means taking a vacation away from home, with all its pressures and stresses. If any of the following signs are true to you, then you should book time off work and take a break immediately.

holiday

The telltale signs

  • The slightest thing causes you to go into meltdown. Your boss lands more work on your desk, you cry at the drop of a hat, and your comfort eating has gone into overdrive. You walk into a room, and you wonder why you went in there in the first place. You are bad-tempered and snappy with the people around you. Your body is full of aches and pains, and your blood pressure has gone through the roof. In short, you are stressed, and you are liable to snap if you don’t do something soon. You need to take time away, follow our relaxation tips, and get yourself an escape (and some perspective) on all of the things that are stressing you out.

  • You are bored! Every day is the same, and you are caught in the vicious cycle of routine. You wake up, go to work, see the same people and places day in and day out, and you are sick of the sight of all of them. You spend your days daydreaming, thinking of that other life you could be having. While you could change your job or move house, the easier answer is to take a holiday somewhere scenic, with new people to talk to, and new experiences to take part in. Your daydreams will become reality, and while it will be tough to go back to your regular life when your holiday is over, at least you will have done something different with your life for that short period.

  • You are constantly getting your travel photos out of the closet. Those halcyon days when you sipped cocktails on Costa Del Sol or gazed out at the fabulous views from the Courtyard Santiago Las Condes. Happy memories all, but they now seem so far away. If only you could recapture some of those moments away from the mundanity of your daily life. Guess what? You can. Provided you have the finances, you can live in the moment of a new experience (or a return to old haunts) rather than reflecting on times gone by. You can also add to your photo collection, rather than relying on your dusty old collection of pics in your album for your memories.

  • You are jealous of your friends. A little jealousy is normal, but if you are sick of listening to your friends regaling you about their adventures abroad, and have started blocking them on your social media (to avoid seeing the thousands of holiday pics they post every day), your jealousy is clearly getting the better of you. It won’t be long before you resent your friends forever, so stop letting them have all the fun. You deserve a holiday too, so whatever and wherever it is, book yourself a trip somewhere now!

If any of those signs rang true to you, then it is time to sort out your vacation plans. Whatever you do and wherever you go, you will only feel better if you do. Take care, and thanks for reading.
