Why she inspires me, celebrating female bloggers is a blog series that I started to stand up and celebrate the strength and resilience of wonderful women. Female bloggers who, in my eyes, are quite frankly unstoppable. I wanted to celebrate these women and share with you their blogs in the hope that they inspire you too.

Today I want to introduce you to B from Boost My Budget.  I’ve been following B on her journey to make extra cash.  She has inspired me in so many ways. Firstly, she is very honest with her posts.  If she only earns pence then that’s what she tells you.  This was a real eye-opener for me as getting a true account of someone’s journey to make money from the start makes it real.  B has also inspired me as she really is rocking it now!  She has gone from small amounts to in January earning more than her salary!  She has inspired me to try out Pinterest Marketing and has been kind enough to send me some hints and tips.

If you are just starting out trying to make some extra cash I really recommend you start with B’s blog, Boost My Budget.  It will give you a month by month account of how she is doing and she also passes on her know how too so she can help you.  Let’s get to know B a little better…

What makes you smile?

This is a really cheesy answer, but my husband makes me smile! He is a real optimist and never gets stressed, and I’m the complete opposite – a massive worrier. He reminds me to relax and stop taking life so seriously. Other things that make me smile are food and wine, going new places, dinner with friends, and getting kind emails from blog readers.

If you could trade lives with one person for an entire day who would it be and why?

Ooh, this is a tough one! At the moment my biggest goal is to grow my blog to a full time income, so I’d like to trade with a successful blogger and see how they do things. Maybe another UK money blogger like Emma Drew, who inspired me to start my own money-making journey. I’m sure I could pick up loads of tips by seeing how she manages her blog and side hustles!

What accomplishments are you most proud of?

I am very proud of my blog and my other side hustles (such as my Pinterest affiliate marketing business). For most of my twenties, I felt extremely stressed and helpless about money. I felt locked into my job and worried about the future. When I started making money online, it was a revelation. Even the first £50 I made online made me very proud of myself, because it was proof that I didn’t have to be dependent on my job. Side hustling is very empowering!

If you could give your 16 year old self advice, knowing what you know now, what would it be?

I would tell myself to learn the basics of personal finance and start a budget. I only started educating myself about money in my late twenties after getting into some money trouble as a student. If I’d learned to manage money earlier, I would have saved myself so much stress – not to mention more money in the bank!

What drives you to do what you do? What motivates you?

My main motivation in blogging and side hustling is to have more options in life. My current day job isn’t too bad, but I don’t like feeling dependant on one source of income. I want to know that I could quit my job if I wanted to – for example, to raise future children or go travelling – and still support myself. I also want to save enough to retire early. Maybe money can’t buy happiness, but it can buy the freedom to live life how you want, which is almost the same thing!
